Mr. Pradip Chopra, Chairman of iLEAD and Director of PS Group of companies, is a first-generation

entrepreneur, educator,  and philanthropist with deep roots in real estate, media, creative arts, and academic leadership.

After graduating from St. Xavier’s College, Kolkata, in 1973, he pursued multiple part-time courses in General Management, Hotel Management, and German language.

He teaches thousands of students each year across St. Xavier’s College, J.D. Birla Institute, and iLEAD. He serves as the Convener of UDAAN, a scholarship initiative offering full financial support to deserving students across India. 

His leadership also extends to heritage conservation as the President of the Murshidabad Heritage Development Society (MHDS).

Leadership in Action

Mr. Pradip Chopra’s work spans enterprise, education, sustainability, and public service. He has trained thousands of students in soft skills, real estate, and entrepreneurship across leading institutes.

His early sustainability efforts include launching a plastic recycling unit in Falta and creating Eco-Wud from municipal waste, which earned him the Plasticon Award in 2000.

Beyond business, he supports culture and community, establishing a vernacular-literature library, introducing street libraries across Kolkata, and leading free skill-training programs through the Women’s ITI and the ITI for physically challenged students. He also speaks at national industry forums, produces films under iLEAD Films, and has won awards for his acting.

He is currently developing the Sundarban Museum, a centre celebrating the art, history, culture, and heritage of the world’s largest mangrove forest.

As the Editor-in-Chief of iLEAD Publications and a regular columnist, Mr. Chopra has authored multiple books and papers on entrepreneurship, urban development, real estate regulation, management, skill-building, and education reform.

With decades of cross-industry experience, Mr. Pradip Chopra envisioned an institute that blends creative ambition with career readiness. His inspiring journey and vision led to the founding of iLEAD Kolkata.

His goal was to build a campus where students gain practical, tailored, and industry-aligned skills, alongside a degree that stands out in a competitive market. Under his leadership, iLEAD has grown into a multi-disciplinary institute spanning media, animation, design, film, business, healthcare tech, and more.

He remains closely involved in academic leadership, mentoring project teams, visiting labs, reviewing student progress, and ensuring every programme stays aligned with industry needs.

From entrepreneurship to education reform, Mr. Pradip Chopra’s journey is marked by achievements that shape communities and industries alike.

Trained 15,000+ students across premier institutes like St. Xavier’s College, J.D. Birla Institute, EDI Ahmedabad, and iLEAD.

Established a plastic recycling unit in Falta and created Eco-Wud, an eco-friendly wood alternative made from municipal waste, earning the Plasticon Award (2000).

Founded A. P. Handels and Vertriebs GmbH in Germany in 1991, now the largest German importer of Indian tombstones.

Established vernacular libraries and introduced street libraries across Kolkata, including the iLEAD Street Library.

Led the creation of iLEAD’s modern skill development centre, offering free programmes for underprivileged learners.

Constructed iLEAD Kolkata campus and the Murshidabad Youth Hostel using nearly 90% recycled materials, setting a benchmark in sustainable infrastructure.

Frequent speaker at national forums and state-level seminars, organised by CREDAI, Indian Institute of Town Planners, Indian Institute of Architects & Engineers, Indian Institute of Valuers, St. Xavier’s College, EIILM, Heritage Institute, Future Institute of Management etc.

Led the 2018 commemoration of Dwarkanath Tagore at Kensal Green Cemetery, London, installing a new bust & restoring his damaged tomb to honour one of India’s earliest entrepreneurs.

Through iLEAD Films, produced and acted in multiple feature films; awarded Promising Actor of the Year (2024) and Best Supporting Actor (IFF Srinagar 2024) for Kusum Ka Biyaah.

Currently developing the Sundarban Museum, a technology-led centre showcasing the art, history, and anthropology of the world’s largest mangrove ecosystem.

Chairman & Managing Director of the PS Group, one of Kolkata’s most respected real estate organisations, with 200+ landmark projects delivered over three decades.

Chairman of the Educational Committee of CREDAI National, leading a national-level skill development for the real estate sector for the last five years.

Chairman of the IMC of Women’s ITI (CREDAI Bengal) and Chairman of the ITI for Physically Challenged Boys and Girls, strengthening vocational training and employment pathways.

Board Member of multiple educational institutions, including Jain Vishva Bharati University (Rajasthan), J.D. Birla Institute (Kolkata), Abhinav Bharati High School (Kolkata), and The Newtown School (Kolkata).
