Wales in Kolkata - A programme to celebrate the cultural and literary treasures of Wales (United Kingdom), was organized by the British Council.
Gary Raymond, writer, editor broadcaster and art critic as a part of the Welsh Delegation interacted with the students of iLEAD on 21st January 2019. The topic of his workshop was - Writing Literary Thrillers: How to Write a Page Turner.
Having experience of more than a decade in writing thrillers, Gary Raymond explained to students about how to write thrillers, his own journey as a thriller writer, his book 'The Golden Compass' and also how to deal with writer's block.
He took references from classic thrillers like Eric Ambler's Uncommon Danger, Dorothy B. Hughes' In a Lonely Place and Patricia Highsmith's This Sweet Sickness. He also spoke about British novelist Graham Greene, who is an acclaimed writer in the genre of thriller.
The workshop ended after a question and answer session between Gary Raymond and the iLEAD students.
