On 3rd April 2024, iLEAD hosted an impactful workshop centred on Digital hygiene and fact-checking in collaboration with News Sense and Google News initiatives. It aimed to empower students with essential skills to navigate the digital world responsibly. The speaker of the workshop was Mr. Joydeep Das Gupta, editor at News Sense. The session was structured to offer the students the skills they required to tell false information from true.
The session was highly interactive and engaging with hands-on activities that encouraged participants to bring in more critical thinking abilities and increase their media literacy. Mr. Das Gupta advised the students to foster these skills in an era where misinformation spreads rapidly on online platforms. The entire workshop not only empowered individuals to make more informed decisions but also contributed to building a more resilient and discerning society by providing practical strategies and insights.
