The Corporate Relations Club of iLEAD organized an educational trip for the students of iLEAD to the Raj Bhawan, the Official Residence of the Hon’ble Governor of West Bengal.
The trip was organized on June 16th 2023 at 12 pm. Thirty six students were accompanied by faculty members to the Raj Bhawan.
The students at the Raj Bhawan witnessed the heritage building that was built between 1799 to 1803 and has been the official residence of the Governor of West Bengal since independence in 1947. They got an idea about the history and architecture of the building.
The students also toured the library at Raj Bhawan that is stocked with very rare books. The ancient artifacts inside the Raj Bhawan that are made as early as 1st century BC were also explored by the students.
The students were also given an account about the Chinese Winged Cannon that the British collected as a trophy from Nanking, China.
Both the north and south campus of the Raj Bhawan were explored by the students and they had an enriching experience at the heritage site.
