On September 10th 2022, the design department of Fashion & Interiors at ESEDS - ILEAD organized SWAP not Shop (Clothes Swapping Event) event in collaboration with Fashion Revolution India supported by UVA. Swap not Shop was all about reuse. This event was conceptualized to promote the practice of sustainability.
Students were encouraged to bring minimum one and maximum ten clothing items. Cleaned, ironed and dry clothes were brought in by the participants.
They were encouraged to bring items that were in good condition and that people would be happy to receive. Clothes with missing buttons, broken zip, loose sequins, fabric pulls, holes, disintegrated seams or hems were not allowed.
The idea behind the event was fulfilling your necessity without contributing to carbon footprints by swapping. It was a great event with many participating in the cause for a more sustainable environment.
