Seminar on Power of Digital Marketing in collaboration with CMC
iLEAD organized a half day seminar in association with Cambridge Marketing College, UK and Indo German Chamber of Commerce on "Business Optimization through the Power of Digital Marketing" on 4 th June, 2016 at IGCC Kolkata. The seminar started with the welcome address of Mr. Pradip Chopra, Chairman, iLEAD who shared his own experience of doing business in early '70 in Germany. He shared anecdotes about the hurdles of communication faced by him during a time when digital technology was not available and explained how cost effective businesses have become now because of availability of digital technology.
The topic of the 1 st session was 'Digital Marketing Tools and Strategies for Business Optimization', Speaker was Mr. Jalaluddin Mondal who is the Marketing Head for Vodafone, WB circle. He started his session with the evolution of digital technology since 1965. Interesting trends in the area of digital technology supported by authentic statistics were discussed. Apart from statistics and informatics his presentation included every minute details of planning a digital marketing campaign like selecting channels , digital toolkits, key metrics , geo targeting across different verticals , buying models and decision making.
Mr. Sounak Ghosh, the 2 nd speaker is an experienced digital marketing professional with more than 20 years of experience in the field of marketing. His topic was 'Increasing Brand Value through Content Management'. Something vital that was learnt was the need for companies to understand what really motivates their specific customer groups based on their mindset and values. This involves defining what topics target audience is most interested in, what content types or formats they prefer and the channels they frequently use for each stage of the buyer journey. He had shown examples of different websites, advertisements and other visual contents to explain differences between good content and bad content. While discussing about the importance of content management he shared few tips of good web contents.
The topic of the last session was 'Importance of Big Data and Web Analytics'. Soumyadip Chakraborty, the Associate Director of KPMG was the speaker of the session. The topic was very technical in nature but Soumyadip made it interesting by his outstanding presentation. Many participants had asked questions to clarify their doubts about big data and analytics. With relevant examples and in simple words he explained the overlapping concepts of data and big data, analytics and web analytics.
Ms. Sabina Pandey ended the program with her heart touching vote of thanks. She presented small tokens of appreciation to all speakers on behalf of all organizers. More than forty companies have participated in this program. They were engrossed in the entire program and listened to each presentation with great interest. They were also very interactive and asked business related and relevant questions. Participants expressed their great satisfaction and requested for such programs in future.
