The NSS Unit of iLEAD organized a sandwich distribution drive among the slum children. From peeling, chopping to finally wrapping up the healthy sandwiches to distribute it near the college campus slum kids on 2nd April, 2022 all the volunteers of NSS unit iLEAD were extremely enthusiastic throughout the programme. The happy and joyful faces of the kids witnessed the success of a great step of making people understand the significance of a healthy diet.
During Nutrition Week, the activity was organized to create awareness on healthy diet and nutrients and aimed to reduce malnutrition.
Around 50 sandwiches were prepared by 15 volunteers in the iLEAD Cafeteria. The ingredients used were fresh vegetables full of Vitamin B, C and D, milk bread which is a source of carbohydrate and cheese containing high amounts of calcium and fat.
All the ingredients used were fresh and nutritious. The prepared sandwiches were wrapped in cling wraps and then distributed in the nearby slum area to children.
