iLEAD celebrated Rabindra Jayanti, the 162nd birth anniversary of Rabindranath Tagore on May 9, 2023. The day was celebrated to remember the laureate Rabindranath Tagore.
All the faculty members along with the students were present at the celebration. A classroom dedicated to Kabiguru Rabindranath Tagore was inaugurated today by Mr. Pradip Chopra, Chairman of iLEAD. The walls of the room are engraved with quotes, poems, and sayings of Tagore that would keep inspiring the students throughout the year.
The celebration started with an opening speech by Mr. Pradip Chopra. He shared some great moments on the friendship between Tagore and Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay. Also, he asked all the students to enlighten themselves by reading and learning more about Rabindranath Tagore and his creations.
Mr. Ankan Roy, one of the faculty members of Media Science, shared some lesser-known facts regarding the creation of some unforgettable songs written by Tagore.
Besides, students and faculty members showed respect and devotion towards Kabiguru by performing on his creations. Students created a sketch of Tagore on the board along with the lines from his famous poem ‘Chitto Jetha Bhoy Shunno’.
Students also performed Rabindra Nritya and sang Rabindra Sangit which included the songs of ‘Sraban er Dhara’ and ‘Amaaro Poraano Jaha Chaaye’ and more. Faculty members also sang the famous Rabindra Sangit ‘Amaar Mukti Aaloy Aaloy’.
