On January 30th, 2023, the AD and PR Club of iLEAD organised the event of Primed for PR. The guest speakers at the event were Ms. Paromita Ghosh (Director, Candid School of Communication and Candid Communication), Ms. Supreeta Singh (Founder and Communication Expert, Searchlight Communication), and Mr. Atreya Paul (Business Head, First Idea PR).
Ms. Paromita Ghosh spoke about the Challenges in the field of public relations. She also talked about how to prepare for a PR job and why internships are important in the PR sector.
Ms. Supreeta Singh talked about her experience of shifting to the field of PR from journalism. She also shared her experience about working as a PR for the hotel sector.
Mr. Atreya Paul spoke about PR in the technical field like Fintech or Edutech sectors. He also explained the difference between AD and PR and further went on to talk about the nuisances of PR for startups and how research is important for different verticals of PR.
The event was followed by a question-answer session wherein students asked the guests various questions about pursuing a career in the PR sector.
