On 5 October 2024, iLEAD hosted the much-anticipated People Conclave 2024 in collaboration with the HR Learning Network (HRLN) and the Institute of Integrated Development and Research (IIDR). The event was organised to showcase a thought-provoking session on the impact of AI (Artificial Intelligence). The distinguished guest of honour was Shri Somesh Dasgupta, Full-time director of India Power Corporation Ltd, at the event. The day’s highlight was an engaging panel discussion on the rise and future of AI, exploring its potential to reshape industries. The esteemed panelists of the session were Dr. Chandrima Banerjee (Director of Unigrow Solutions), Mrs. Susmita Choudhury (Chief People Officer of Marble Box), Mr. Samar Bannerjee (CHRO of Star Cement LTD), Mrs. Anindita Paul Dutta (Head HR of Madhu Jayanti Internation PVT LTD), Mr. Sudhanshu Roy (Group Head HR of Medica Hospitals), Mr. Pradip Bandhopadhyay (Head HR-Finacial Inclusion Trust of Bandhan Group) and Sourav Das (CIO of Rupa & Co.).
The event commenced with the traditional lighting of the lamp, setting the stage for an inspiring address by Pradip Chopra, Chairman of iLEAD who represented the importance of AI in human resource programs for today’s business environment. He emphasised his journey in the real estate industry and provided valuable insights into the changing role of HR managers. He encouraged participants to “Dream Big” and reminded them that they all have the potential to become CEOs of leading organisations. The Chief Guest conveyed gratitude for the HR professionals by recognizing their pivotal role in shaping sustainable business practices. He also recognised iLEAD for organizing such a dynamic event, underscoring the value of passion-driven initiatives in attracting the right crowd.
The panel discussion featured HR thoughts by exploring the evolving nature of the HR profession, emphasizing how technology such as AI is reshaping workplaces and sustainable practices in various sectors. Dr. Banerjee highlighted the concept of "data democratization" and urged HR professionals to embrace a digital mindset while keeping the human element at the forefront. She evaluated the critical balance between high-tech solutions and the human touch, noting the shift towards data-driven decision-making in organizations. Other panellists also underscored the importance of developing people skills by improving employee experiences and governance through technological advancements. They advised that change management and people adoption are the keys to success in the present business scenario. The day was marked by the launch of Catharasis, an innovative platform aimed at driving HR learning and development. The event ended with great success, offering invaluable insights into the future of HR and sustainable business practices for innovation and growth in today’s ever-evolving professional landscape.
