On November 29, 2022, the US Consulate General Kolkata and iLEAD organized the Jefferson Debates.
This year the colleges that participated in the prestigious Jefferson Debates constituted of Jadavpur University, Shri Shikshayatan College, Jaipuria College, iLEAD among others.
The topic of the debate had been 'US - India collaboration in higher education will result in Indian talent moving out of the country'. Mr. Adrian Pratt, Director of the American Centre was the moderator of the debate.
For the first time in 9 years, a team from iLEAD ranked first in the debate. Aiema Tauheed (B.Sc in Media Science 2021-2024) from iLEAD bagged the Best Speaker award at the event. Goenka College and Surendranath Law College bagged the second and third position respectively.
