iLEAD organized the ‘Annual Awards 2022 – In Recognition of the Excellence’ on November 16th 2022. This Annual Awards, iLEAD honored the teachers from the city of Kolkata who have made significant contributions in the area of performing arts and fine arts. This year, iLEAD also awarded the key stakeholders who through the journey of 12 long years have helped the institute in its growth and progress.
The Chief Guest at the event had been Ambassador Anil Trigunayat (IFS Retd), Former Ambassador of India to Jordan, Libya and Malta and Dr. Deepak Vohra, special advisor to the Prime Minister of Lesotho, South Sudan and Guinea-Bissau and also special advisor to Ladakh, Autonomous Hill Development Councils, Leh and Kargil. The theme of the event had been ‘Colours of India’. Mr. Pradip Chopra, Chairman of iLEAD, speaking at the event explained how performing or fine arts can ‘improve learning capabilities and receptivity tremendously’. He also talked about an ‘attitude of gratitude’ while thanking all those dignitaries who have helped iLEAD to grow and become a brand of choice for education among students and parents.
Anil Trigunayat as the keynote speaker talked about ‘Colours of India’. He said the “C of Colours stand for Culture and civilization, O stands for Osmosis of ideas and philosophies, L Looking after the world i.e.vashudhaivakutumbakam, U stands for Unity and diversity and universality, R stands for Religiosity and resonance and S stands for Spirituality and shaanti”. Addressing the students he also inspired them to “Look ahead, expect the worst, ascend the right, defeat the odds, enhance the horizons, move ahead”.
Dr. Deepak Vohra in his speech talked about the 25 years target for India to become a developed nation. He also talked about the 5 core challenges that the present Indian generation will face in the coming years. They are “health, climate change, economic recovery, technologies, conflict”. Students of iLEAD also presented cultural programs on the stage. They performed a rich traditional dance on the stage. Students also performed a musical act showcasing the hardships of a life of a soldier. The cultural program was followed by a fashion show with the theme of ‘Festivals of India’.
The teachers from the performing arts and fine arts fields who were awarded were from various reputed schools of Kolkata. Some of the schools were Lakshmipatsinghania academy, Pratt memorial, Heritage School, Shri ShikshayatanSchool, DPS, New Town, Abhinav Bharti School, National English School, Patha Bhavan, Sri Sri academy and New Town School.
Some of the recipients of the gratitude award were IndrajitBhalotia (Founder of Protouch Sports and India’s Golf Champion),Tejash Bagri (No Paper Forms), HemandMediratta (Founder of One Rep Global), Vishal Dave (Founder of Revolucion), Jimmy Tangree (Head, 91.9 FRIENDS FM), Sohini Das (Public Engagement Adviser, US Dept of State), Vikram Newar (Director, Taaza TV), Shekhar Mukherjee (General Manager, Taj Sats), Aloke Singh (Co-Founder and Creative Director at ESEDS School of Design), SuyashBorar (Former Chief Executive at CMRI, B.M.Birla Heart Research Centre and Present Director of Xceptional Health and Wellness Pvt. Ltd.) among others.
