On 9th April 2024, iLEAD—The Institute of Leadership, Entrepreneurship, and Development organized the premiere of "Future Vista: The New Age Careers." The second iteration of the three-day professional conference got underway to evaluate career opportunities in OTT for alternative Narratives. The event was organized to assist our students in unlocking the overall career growth ahead of them with the rise of new-age profession options at the forefront of a cultural revolution. The esteemed panelists were Mr. Soumyabrata Rakshit (Creative Head, SVF), Ms. Roshni Bhattacharya (Actress), Mr. Mainak Banerjee (Actor), Mr. Kamaleshwar Mukherjee (Film Director), Ms. Subha Das Mollick (Documentary Director).
Mr. Soumyabrata Rakshit shared the importance of Data by saying that OTT comes with something that the other platforms don't have. Mr. Kamaleshwar Mukherjee, Film director and screenwriter, actor spoke about the subtle differences between making movies for theaters and streaming services. Ms. Roshni Bhattacharya commented on OTT content by saying "OTT has made the content more realistically." Mr. Mainak Banerjee stated, "I feel the Bengali OTT platforms have a long way to go where the Hindi OTT platforms have skyrocketed in making the Hindi TV serials suffer," when discussing the reach of regional material. Ms. Subha Das Mollick explained how behind the scenes have become engaging content too. She also commented that content is diversified and behind the process and scenes of making content also become content.
The panel discussion was highly interactive and reflected on the transformative influence of OTT platforms on the content creation to engage learners within the ever-evolving environment.
