iLEAD in association with Earth Day Network and Bichitra Pathshala organized Earth Reel 2018. The theme for this year was -End Plastic Pollution. The mission was to give the students an opportunity to spread the message of saving planet Earth from all kinds of natural and manmade threats. The schools which participated in the event included Ashok Hall Girls High School, Dhulagori Adarsha Vidyalaya, G.D. Birla Centre of Education, Laxmipat Singhania Academy, Loreto Day School, Mahadevi Birla Shishu Vihar and many more. The chief guest who graced the occasion was Karuna Singh, Country Director India for Earth Day Network (EDN) which works on environmental issues through organizing campaigns. The session witnessed several films and presentations on varied aspects of plastic pollution in environment. Some notable films shown during the session included- "Last Conversation" by Sahay NGO, 'Superplastic' made by the Ashok Hall Girls High School, 'Prastic Man' by Loreto Day School, "Synthetic End by Sri Shikshayatan.
'Plasticity' directed by Ms. Subha Das Mollick, Senior Faculty of Media Studies, iLEAD was showcased which showed varied aspects of plastic pollution, recycling, and reuse. The 1st runner-up trophy in the junior category was won by Loreto Day School and the winners were Ashok Halls High School. In the senior category the 2nd runner-up position went to Dhulagori Adarsha Vidyalaya for their film 'Plastic Biporjoy' and the 1st runner up was Sahay NGO for their film 'Last Conversation'. The champion team of Earth Reel 2018 was Loreto Day Dharmatala for their film 'Prastic Man' Special prize for the best researched film on plastic pollution stoppage went to Ashok Halls Girls High School for 'Superplastic'.
