On 28th September, there was a seminar on Financial Planning at iLEAD by Mr. Tapas Saha, a financial doctor and city's well known trainer on CFP (Certified Financial Planner). Only 35 years old, he is also the founder and managing partner of IIRWM (International Institute of Research & Wealth Management). He explained the meaning of Financial Doctor and how in India very few families have financial doctors. According to his survey every 9 out of 10 families is financially stressed and also gave examples from two Bollywood movies to explain this - Baghban and Taxi No 9211. He said that Financial Planning works well for the middle class family and Wealth Management is for upper middle class family. With a large number of High Net worth and Ultra High Net worth Individuals India is going to be the third richest country in the world by 2030 and the richest country of the world by 2050. CFP is conferred by Financial Planning Standards Board India and recognized by 26 countries including China, USA and Japan. The world has 1, 75,000 + CFP and there are great career prospects for a Financial Doctor. The CFP board in India has been a founding member of 44 companies including SBI, HDFC, RBI and Aditya Birla Group. A course in CFP takes hardly 10 months to complete and there is a 6 module after every 1.6 year. The session ended with his final advice: "You must respect money and money will respect you."
