The 48th International Kolkata Book Fair, held from January 28 to February 9, 2025, celebrated Germany as its theme country, highlighting the rich literary and cultural ties between Germany and India. The grand theme pavilion, "Shelf Life," designed by Anupama Kundoo, emphasized the importance of books and knowledge in shaping human civilization.
Amidst book launches, cultural programs, interactive workshops, and exhibitions, students of M.Sc. Media Science from iLEAD visited the fair on February 6, 2025, at the Central Park Mela Ground. They participated in a spot quiz on Architecture, attended an insightful session at the British Council, and explored book stalls featuring a diverse collection from Germany and other countries.
As part of their coursework, students engaged in study-telling photography assignments, capturing the essence of the fair through compelling visuals. Beyond books, they enjoyed cultural exhibitions and diverse culinary delights from the fair’s food section. This experience allowed them to acquire a blend of knowledge, creativity, and fun, reinforcing iLEAD’s commitment to experiential learning and encouraging students to engage with global literary and cultural landscapes.
