On August 10th 2019, iLEAD hosted the launch of the book 'Rakhal Das Banerjee - Time, Life and Achievements of Forgotten Archaeologist' authored by Dr. Phanikanta Mishra, Ex Regional Director (East), Archaeological Survey of India and designed by iLEAD.
The Chief Guest at the event had been Justice Giridhar Malaviya, Chancellor, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi.
Dr. Saikat Maitra, Vice Chancellor, Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology (MAKAUT), presided as the Guest of Honor.
At the launch event, Mr. Pradip Chopra, Chairman of iLEAD, talked about the design of the book which is a blend of a coffee table book and serious research work. He also talked about how the book aims at rediscovering the glorious past of India and reach everyone.
Dr. Phanikanta Mishra in his keynote address narrated the life history of Rakhal Das Banerjee along with the atrocities of the colonial rule he had to face.
Dr. Saikat Maitra, talked about the legacy of Rakhal Das Banerjee and also mentioned about making the book available for everyone in the MAKAUT library. He mentioned that the book would motivate the young generation to cross tremendous difficulties in life.
Justice Giridhar Malaviya, spoke about the Renaissance in Bengal, the achievements of Rakhal Das Banerjee and congratulated Dr. Phanikanta Mishra.
