Academics vs. Industry – Let's Bridge the Gap! The corporate and placement cell of iLEAD organised an Exclusive Industry-Academia Connect Session held on February 17, 2025, starting at 1:00 p.m. In today’s fast-evolving professional landscape, the disconnect between academic learning and industry expectations is a growing concern. To address this crucial challenge, iLEAD, in collaboration with the Corporate Relations & Placements Department and the Institution’s Innovation Council, presented a special session on "Bridging the Gap Between Industry and Academics."

Esteemed Guest Speakers of the session were Sandeep Goswami, HR Head, VIVO and Dhrubajyoti Majumdar, Regional HR Head, Larsen & Toubro Ltd, felicitated by Dr. Soumen Chatterjee, Principle of iLEAD and Mr. Sanjay Bhattacharya, HR Head of iLEAD.

Mr. Goswami expressed his perspective by stating that the current industry demands professionals who are flexible, proficient, and possess a problem-solving mindset. While academic excellence is important, students must develop soft skills, digital literacy, and a learning mindset to thrive in the corporate world.

Additionally, Mr. Majumdar shared his view that technical knowledge alone is not enough; organizations look for individuals who possess strong interpersonal skills, leadership qualities, and the ability to work collaboratively.
