1ST State level FIDE rated Women Chess Championship 2018 at iLEAD

iLEAD Institute organized the 1st state level FIDE rated Women chess championship 2018 in its own campus at Dale Carnegie auditorium. The rate of play was 60 minutes and additional 30 seconds as increment from move. The state chess championship will be conducted in seven rounds as per the Swiss system. The competition will be held from 27th June to 1st July 2018. The main organizers of the Chess tournament are- Bengal Chess Association and Kolkata District Chess Association. The aim of conducting such tournament is to bring up the huge reservoir of women talent in the strategic and competitive game of Chess. The event is being supported by Women Times- leading Women Affairs periodical, NIFI- National Integration Forum of India, SREI Foundation and Patton. The venue partner of this women empowerment event is iLEAD institute of Media and Management. The inauguration of the event was done by the tournament Director- Mr Atin Sengupta, Chief Arbiter- IA Biswanath Banerjee and Arbiter- FA Mrinal Ghosh. The competition will be conducted as per the standard rules of International Chess Championships. The participants in the chess tournament were chess champions from various reputed chess academies and educational institutions around Kolkata. The event gave a great platform to bring out the women talent in the competitive game of chess and make them ready to face tough competitors in International Chess tournament platforms.
