A one day workshop on VFX and Motion Graphics held recently at the Institute of Leadership, Entrepreneurship and Development (iLEAD) helped students and faculty members grasp intricate detail about software used in web, graphics design, animation, gaming and filmmaking.
The event that held at the institute's auditorium on 1st April from 10 am in the morning was later shifted to the audio visual library for practical demonstration purposes. Renowned faculty member from the BVF University, Jaipur, Ashok Biswas, who is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Mass Communication, lectured the interactive session, which continued till 3 in the afternoon. Mr. Biswas has been teaching in different Media colleges in Print Media, Electronic Media, New Media and Communication Design for the past 12 years. With over 8 years of experience in the industry, he has worked for media production houses (Disney Channel) and other organizations as color shade animator, mimicry and voiceover artist. Still photography, graphic designing, visualization and layout designing and animation are few other domains he is equally proficient at.
During the session, Professor Biswas interacted with students of both B.Sc. and M.Sc and imparted valuable knowledge on SFX, VFX, motion graphics, drama studio and music sense. The next part where he took students to the AV library was primarily meant to acquaint them to some of his works.
The real reason why Visual Effects are becoming paramount for films, television, web and games is chiefly for the attention-grabbing communication designs they render. From movie trailers to opening film credits, animated network identities to short promos and television commercials, VFX and Motion Graphics infuse a different touch to the end product.
Students at iLEAD gained hands on experience in this subject. This workshop can be expected to help interested pupils make a mark of their own as production assistants, visual effects specialist, assistant designer, motion graphic artists or broadcast design assistants.
