On June 13th 2022, the 5-day career conclave ‘Future Vista – The New Age Careers’ dedicated to the students was inaugurated at iLEAD. Future Vista is organized with the aim of discussing the changes and growth in the respective sectors along with the emerging new-age career opportunities. The first session of the event was on real estate.
Mr. Pradip Chopra (Chairman of iLEAD and PS Group) along with Mr. Apurva Salarpuria (MD, Salarpuria Group) and Mr. Heera Lal Bagra (Former President, National Association of Realtor) presided over the real estate panel in the morning. Pradip Chopra said, “Engineering is an overcrowded sector now. Whereas in real estate there’s a huge demand supply gap of professionals. There are 20,000 registered real estate companies and only 2 to 3 real estate colleges in India. If each of the companies hire even 1%, we are still left with only 300-400 trained professionals in a year. This sector is here to stay and grow for a long time and there’s no better business than real estate to start off your career”.
He also talked about the appreciating market for real estate in India. “In the west, the market is depreciating but in India, the opportunities are more”.
Apurva Salarpuria also talked about expansion of India’s real estate sector abroad. “We have so much to do in India, the market is growing and we don’t need to look for work outside”. He also talked about the emergence of technology start-ups in real estate.
Heera Lal Bagra said, “The launch of RERA in 2017 has made the sector more organized and opened newer avenues”. He discussed about the opportunities RERA has presented to the sector.
