Post the pandemic of 2020, it was the year of 2021 that brought in some normalcy as compared to the previous year. iLEAD re-opened in February 2021 with sports events for the students and then went on to organize remarkable events throughout the year. This year one of our most important initiatives included the vaccination drive for all our staff members.
Hereby we list down 15 most memorable events from the year of 2021 for iLEAD.
1. Adrenaline 2021
From February 15th to 19th, the much-awaited sports fest Adrenaline 2021 was organized at the iLEAD Sports Complex. It was the first ever major sports event held for the students at the campus post the pandemic year of 2020. We also witnessed the participation of external colleges like THK Jain College, Prafulla Chandra College, Bhawanipur Education Society and also Asansol Engineering College. The event included both indoor and outdoor games.
2. Festi Vista 2021
The Cultural Club of iLEAD organized Festi Vista, a 3-day event on February 23rd, 24th and 25th 2021. Post pandemic this marked the first ever on-stage participation of the students at the campus. The cultural event included singing, dancing, beat boxing and more. It was truly a celebration and a great comeback to the campus.
3. Vaccination Drive
On June 9th 2021, iLEAD organized a vaccination drive for all employees. The teaching and non-teaching staff took their jabs from the R.N.Tagore Hospital, Kolkata.
4. Launch of Before You Die
On August 10th 2021, Mr. Pradip Chopra, announced the launch of iLEAD Films’ first commercial venture ‘Before You Die’. The film is to be directed by Suvendu Raj Ghosh. It will mark the debut of Kavya Kashyap and Puneet Raj Sharma in lead roles. The film is scheduled to release on February 4th 2022, World Cancer Day. The movie also took in the film and media students of iLEAD to work as crew members giving them exposure of real world filmmaking process.
5. Jashn-E-Roshan 2021
iLEAD celebrated pre-diwali event Jashn-E-Roshan with music, rangoli and food. A potluck session was organized by the students wherein they offered delicious dishes. The dishes included pav bhaji, pulaao, cakes, samosas and much more.
6. Baithak 2021
Baithak, a cultural event organized by the Cultural Club of iLEAD, was a 2 day event held on October 22nd and 23rd 2021. The event included Singing (Eastern), Fine Arts, Dance, Digital Art, Bollywood Quiz, Fashion Show, Singing (Bollywood), followed by a prize distribution ceremony.
7. Student Film Festival at PVR
iLEAD in association with PVR organized Student Film Festival on October 27th 2021. The department of film and television organized this initiative. It was a historical event as the films of iLEAD’s students were screened in a private screening session at PVR, Mani Square on October 27th 2021 from 1:30 pm to 4:00 pm IST.
8. Investiture Ceremony 2021
Investiture Ceremony, an event that is specially organized to imbibe leadership skills within students took place in December 10th 2021. Almost 16 clubs, their student heads and assistant student heads took oath to fulfill their duties with responsibility. They received their badges from respective mentors of the clubs.
9. Jefferson Debates 2021
iLEAD and US Consulate General organized the must reputed Jefferson Debates 2022 at the iLEAD Campus. Students from Goenka College, Calcutta University, Loretto University, Jadavpur University, Sanskrit College and University and more. The topic of the debate was ‘The U.S.-India strategic relationship will boost business growth in the Indo-Pacific region’.
10. Screening of 1971 at PVR
On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of Vijay Diwas, iLEAD organized the screening of its much acclaimed documentary ‘1971 : India’s Finest Hour’. On December 13th 2021, at PVR, Mani Square, the documentary was screened in presence of respected Army officers.
11. Recruitment Drive 2021
On December 15th and 16th 2021, the ESAF Small Finance Bank arrived at iLEAD for a recruitment drive. The students from the management department participated in the drive.
12. Symposium 2021
Symposium is organized every year by the Student Affairs Club. In 2021 also Symposium was organized by the Student Affairs Club to test and enhance the abilities of public speaking by students on December 15th 2021.
13. Mehfil
The Seminar and Events club of iLEAD organized Mehfil on December 18th 2021. The event was organized to celebrate poetry, music and literature. Stretched from afternoon to evening during the winter season at the Sports Complex, it was a day to celebrate creativity by the students.
14. Mistletoe Magic
Christmas celebrations took place at the iLEAD Campus on 23rd and 24th December. The Cultural Club of iLEAD organized the Mistletoe Magic which invited participation by the students but not competition. Mistletoe witnessed a great number of participating students who performed on stage in the rounds of singing, dancing, rapping, beat boxing and more.
15. New Year Event 2021
On the 31st eve of 2021, a new year event was organized for the employees of iLEAD. Snacks, music and a little bit of ‘adda’ marked the new year celebration at iLEAD.
