Mr. Soumya Suvra Das is the Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Media. Previously, he was the Head of the Department of Entertainment Media, School of Media and Communication, Adamas University (since 2021), Assistant Professor of Media and Films at NSHM (since 2018), and Whole Time Faculty at The Bhawanipur Education Society College (since 2015) and WLC College (since 2008). Apart from this, he has taught as a Visiting Faculty at Lady Brabourne College (2021-2023), St. Xavier’s College, Kolkata (2011-2017), ILead College (2011-2013). He has been MOOC Coordinator and resource person for the last six years. He has also made four short films and one of them is internationally critically acclaimed. His expertise lies in Film Studies, Documentary Films, Script Writing, Contextual Studies, New Media, Contextual Studies, Critical Studies, Literature, Marxism and Theatre Studies, Feminist Film Theory.
His film Mochhob received Best Social Message Award in an international film festival in 2021.
