NEWish had come to iLEAD

NEWish had come to iLEAD on March 19th 2019 to motivate the students for pursuing their passion. The event inspired them to channel their creativity through music, art, theatre, cinema or by any means that is appealing to the respective students.

The three mentors who conducted sessions were Amyt Datta (a guitarist, musician and TEDx Speaker), Dr. Jagdish Chaturvedi (an ENT Surgeon and standup comedian) and Cyrus Dastur (Founder of India's only short film club, Shamiana Short Films).

Amyt Datta played various tunes on guitar, conducted a joint session of guitar with few students and spoke how music opens up our thinking process. He also went on to speak about music being one of the primary modes of human expressions that often depicts our moods, conditions and environment.

Cyrus Dastur screened two brilliant short films titled as 'Lila' and 'Dreaming of Peggy Lee'. Through the films he talked about 2D Animation and live motion. He also spoke extensively about how art is a part of our life by default, mapping the senses of audiences while choosing a film to screen and motivated students to act against any intimidation to fulfill their dreams.

Dr. Jagdish Chaturvedi made the students laugh heartily with his humorous session. He gave tips on effective standup comedy to have an immediate connectivity with the audience. His five point formula for standup comedy included - Building a character profile, syncing the character with body language, voice modulation, eye contact with audience and putting appropriate pause in between words.

The session ended with the students in high spirit cheering for the three mentors.
