iLEAD- The Institute of Leadership, Entrepreneurship, and Development witnessed ‘Future Vista- The New Age Careers’. The 2nd edition of the 5 days career conclave was inaugurated on April 24, 2023. With the emergence of the new age career options, an event like Future Vista was organised to help our students to unlock the brightest career options ahead. April 25, 2023, was the second day of the five days long career conclave.
Experts from the fields of Entrepreneurship, Media, and Film were present to enlighten all the students. The third panel of the second day was on the ‘Tea Industry’. The panel included dignitaries like Mr. Ashok Kumar Bhargava (CEO of the Tea Vision Trust, Ex-Chairman of Indian Tea Association and CCPA), Mr. Arun Narain Singh (Trustee of the Tea Vision Trust, Retd MD and CEO of Goodricke Group), Dr. Annop Kumar Barooah (Ex-Director of Tocklai Tea Research Centre, Jorhat, Assam), Mr. Devendra Lal Thapar (Former Chairman, Calcutta Tea Traders Association and Member of Tea Council and Board) along with Dr. Biswajit Bera (Ex-Director, Research, Tea Board of India).
Mr. Ashok Bhargava talked about ‘competency in the tea sector at present, current scenario of the tea industry and challenges of the industry’. Mr. Arun Narain Singh provided insights on the ‘requirements and attributes of the tea industry’. Dr. Barooah spoke on the ‘benefits of having a career in the tea industry’. Mr. Devendra Lal Thapar talked about ‘the different types of tea based on variety and geographical locations along with career opportunities in the tea industry’.
All three panels got quite energetic and enthusiastic groups of students who attended the panels to have a detailed idea about their careers.
