Jefferson Senior Debate 2024 was hosted by the US Consulate General in collaboration with iLEAD on November 18th, 2024. 36 participants from 12 renowned colleges participated in the impactful event at the American Center Kolkata.
iLEAD secured the ‘First Runner-Up’ position at the eleventh edition of the event. The motion for the debate was ‘Is increased military cooperation between the US and India vital for maintaining regional stability in Asia?’ Colleges such as St Xavier’s College, Presidency College, Jadavpur University, Scottish Church College and many other renowned colleges participated in the debate.
The event was moderated by Ms. Elizabeth Lee, the Director of American Center in the presence of iLEAD’s Executive Director, Ms. Pragya Chopra. The judges for the event were Miguel Diaz, spouse of US consulate-general Kathy Giles-Diaz; Syed Asif R. Gardezi, management officer, US Consulate Kolkata and Somrita Ganguly, professor of English at a private college.
Jefferson Debate 2024 provided an exemplary platform for all the students, and iLEAD is thrilled to be a part of such an encouraging event. Kudos to the entire participant team of iLEAD!
