Mr. Alfred Ford (re-christened Ambarish Das), the great-grandson of legendary businessman Mr. Henry Ford visited the iLEAD campus and interacted with the students. He also gave an inspirational speech about the Indian influence of spiritualism in his life and his association with ISKCON.

New Technologies in Real Estate – Knowledge Workshop at iLEAD

CREDAI (Confederation of Real Estate Developers Association of India) in association with iLEAD (Institute of Leadership Entrepreneurship & Development) organized a workshop on “New Technologies in Real Estate – Knowledge Workshop”. The seminar took place at the iLead Campus located at Matheshwartala Road, Topsia. The experts from the real estate industry talked about new-age technologies and innovations that can help real estate players take smoother, better and faster decisions in their business and help reduce costs.

iLEAD also awarded certificates to its Real Estate Management Course students for the successful completion of the course during this event.

A welcome party was organized by iLEAD for its new students in the evening on 5th September, 2011. The event included dance performances, songs, a skit and interactions between the new and our existing students. It was followed by drinks and snacks.

Beth A. Payne assumed her duties as the Consul General at the U.S. Consulate General Kolkata on August 1, 2008. She is a career Foreign Service Officer who joined the U.S. State Department in 1993. Her previous assignments include postings at the U.S. Embassies in Senegal, Rwanda, Israel and Kuwait. In 2003, she opened the Office of the U.S. Consul in Baghdad, Iraq. She also served in the Office of Children’s Issues in the State Department in Washington DC. In 2003, she received the State Department’s Award for Heroism for saving the arm of a fellow Foreign Service Officer after a hotel bombing in Baghdad. She was also named the State Department’s Consular Officer of the Year in 2004 in recognition of her work in Iraq.

Prior to joining the Foreign Service, Ms. Payne worked as a staff attorney for the National District Attorneys' Association's National Center for the Prosecution of Child Abuse. Ms. Payne is a Returned Peace Corps Volunteer from Tunisia, where she taught special education in the desert town of Kebili.

Ms. Payne received a M.S. in National Security Studies from the National War College in 2008; a J.D. from American University Washington College of Law in 1988; and a B.S. in Special Education from Penn State University in 1985.

Performing Shakespeare: This two day workshop is designed to help broaden and develop participants understanding and practical exploration of Shakespeare. Day two will focus on an in depth look at a play – Macbeth. The workshop delivery style will include active facilitation; practical exercises, enactment of text as well as discussion and viewing of film interpretations of Shakespeare.
Improvisation in Acting: This two day course aims to interrogate the process of improvisation. You will begin to hone, develop and realise the skills necessary to become an active, spontaneous and flexible actor. Using an ensemble based work ethic you will start to explore the craft of improvisation and its importance to acting. Using practical techniques to develop reacting, responding, spontaneity and flexibility, the module aims to expand the actor’s imagination and ability to be truthful in the moment. Improvisation encourages the actor to become energised, open minded and develop sensitivity to the fellow actor, all vital for the demands of the acting profession. You will practically explore the importance of games and exercises. You will explore and reflect upon key practitioners work such as Augusto Boal and Keith Jonston.
